OD TAPO IMI Steel Drum Band

Your students will love our blend of percussion and steel drums (a tropical melodic percussion instrument) and thrilling special effects in this jubilant musical educational performance.

- We play songs students love including: Jump in the Line, Day-Oh, Under the Sea, Lion Sleeps Tonight & Hot-Hot-Hot.

- We include an interdisciplinary school curriculum to use the week prior to build on the fun and learning.

- We add “Blue Man”–like percussion numbers that demonstrate how the steel drum is made & what makes it a melodic percussion instrument.

- We discuss the Caribbean Islands, particularly Trinidad, West Indies where the steel drum originated.

- We promise that our assembly will be one the students and teachers will talk about all year long!

The assembly consists of five musicians (two steel drummers playing three steel drums), a percussionist playing bongos, congas, timbales and 25 percussion instruments including tambourines, cow bells, etc. plus a drum set player and guitar player.
