DEDÉ SAMPAIO, the gifted Brazilian Master Percussionist who created this outstanding program has played/recorded with MILES DAVIS, WALLACE RONEY, JON FADDIS, PAUL WINTER, RITA MORENO, RANDY BRECKER, TONINHO HORTA, OSCAR CASTRO NEVES and many others. This is an exciting cultural adventure; students will explore, learn and understand many aspects of Brazilian history, geography, customs and music, as well as experience the sounds. A wide variety of Brazilian percussion instruments will be demonstrated, played, discussed and their origins will be explained. Students and teachers will get the chance to participate in hands-on percussion as we recreate "THE BRAZILIAN CARNAVAL" atmosphere using SOUNDS OF BRAZIL. A BRAZILIAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE.
